Maintainance

1) Repair: The best time to do Repair is when it got >= 30% wear, because when it reach 30% wear your alliance contributions will decrease and when it reach 50% wear it won't contribute to the alliance completely.

2) A-Check: The best time to do A-Check is when the aircraft dues 20 Hours, remember A-Check can only be done on your hubs, when it got negatives it will harm your stock values and your growth.

Engine Option

Need a help regarding the best engine to be used in aircraft?

Short Answer: the best engine, is the engine that has the fastest speed, just don't see other things such as Fuel and CO2.

Example: A380-800, if you see the King Of The Skies has an ths fastest speed of 1000 km/h which is using RR Trent 72, so please buy the aircraft with RR Trent 72:)

Why you should't do charter!

A few thoughts on charter operations. I've been running a few weeks now and built up a fleet of 8 A330-900neos and 2 A330-200s. The reason for these choices later.

All of my charter operations are ten cycles, for minimum intervention. I've aimed for around 5 days for the 10 cycles, with some exceptions.

The aim has been that 10 cycles complete easily within a week, as charter demand refreshes weekly. I have also ensured that two sets of cycles take much longer than a week.

This means I can safely configure the planes such that 10 cycles deplete slightly less than half the demand. Ergo, there is never a danger of planes flying half empty.

Charter demand/reputation is derived from your main airline reputation. Typically this means mid-70s percent for me. There is further charter marketing which I am sure its beneficial to use if you can time all of your departures into the marketing window. But I haven't yet attempted it.

Income-wise, the -900neos are pulling around $10m per 5 day set of cycles and the -200s around $6m. For the -900neos this is similar to what the mainline fleet neos would bring per day on a similar reputation. However, as I market at level 4 for the main airline, actual income and profitability is therefore lower for my charter planes.

Is charter worthwhile? Yes, if you have the points AND it is becoming more expensive to buy hangars. If your next ten hangars are priced in the billions, that's the point to start thinking of whether the ten 'free' charter hangars are worth acquiring.

Do remember that if you ever stop paying the points for charter, the assigned planes are parked and cannot be used elsewhere.

Last point to remember - you need to be far more on the ball with A Checks. Don't go sending a plane on a 120 hour cycle with 80 hours left to check! You must check these planes early.

And the plane choice? Well, I like the 330-900neo generally, its the biggest charter plane available too. And I play the game to my own self-imposed rules these days, meaning a real life similar airline and plane must exist. So my charter airline planes are based on the German airline Condor. They only have 8 -900neos, so the two -200s make up the rest of the fleet as they have those as well. The neos fly from Frankfurt and the -200s from Berlin Schonefeld.
